Biostream was recently featured on the flagship technology programme Tech & Co on BFM Business, one of France’s leading business and technology media outlets. During the broadcast, Biostream co-founder Sophia Metz joined host François Sorel to discuss how artificial intelligence can support frontline medicine and the development of Biostream’s wearable monitoring technology.

The segment explored how recent conflicts have accelerated innovation in battlefield medicine, where the speed at which injuries are detected and treated can determine survival. Modern warfare increasingly produces complex blast injuries that are not always immediately visible, while medics often operate in environments with limited information, communication constraints, and significant logistical pressure. Technologies capable of continuously analysing physiological signals and identifying signs of medical distress can therefore play a critical role in helping medical teams prioritise care and coordinate evacuation.

During the discussion, Metz explained how advances in sensor technology, artificial intelligence, and secure communications are making it possible to bring new forms of medical decision support to the battlefield. The programme also highlighted the broader strategic importance of such technologies as armed forces increasingly seek to integrate advanced commercial innovation into operational medicine.

The broadcast highlighted Biostream’s growing collaboration with Ukraine to enable operational testing of the system with medical forces, allowing the technology to be evaluated in real-world conditions while gathering data that will inform further development.
